YAAEEE for Healthy babies!!!

This week we had the babies 12 month checkup. The doctor said we had perfect, healthy babies, the words every mother LOVES to hear!! They are right on target in size and mile stones!! The crazy thing is the babies were one ounce apart when they were born and now they are only 1 1/2 ounces apart. They have stayed neck and neck this whole year. Tatum is my tall girl who is 3/4 of an inch taller than Tanner.
More GREAT news!!!
Many of you know that Tanner was born with a metabolic disorder called Galactosemia. He was taken off of my breast milk at 8 days and was put on soy formula. His body couldn't break down the galactose in milk. If he were to have milk it could cause all kinds of major problems. We had a wonderful doctor at The Children's Hospital who took great care of our little Tanner man. Through all of this we found out that Troy also has the same thing. There are two kinds of Galactosemia, one being better to have than the other and that is the one that Tanner ended up having. He had the kind that is usually grown out of by a year. The doctor put Tanner on a Galactose challenge in the beginning of Jan. We had to give him all kinds of dairy products for a week and then we would go in and get a blood test to see if his body broke down the galactose. We got the results early last week and he............................. PASSED!!!!!! He was released from the clinic and they told us that he would have a regular diet for the rest of his life!! PRAISE GOD!!! Soooooooooo he had ice cream to celebrate this exciting news and he LOVED it!!!
Here he is taking his first bite.
YUMMMMMYYY!!!! "mommy I have been missing out!!"

This was the sad face when he was all out!
We are so blessed with such a healthy boy!! We are looking forward to lifetime of ice cream bliss!!

Happy Birthday Tatum & Tanner

Troy and I can't believe that it has been a year since Tatum and Tanner were born. It has truly been the best year of our lives. What an amazing privilege we have, God trusts us with two of his children to raise!! WHAT A BLESSING!! We have had so much fun being parents.....from
-sleepless nights to sleeping 12 hours a night
-8 bottles a day to sippy cups
-crying to saying mama and dada
-6lbs to 23lbs
-laying in one place to walking ALL over the place
-sponge baths to swimming together all over the big bathtub
-being oblivious to the existence of toys to being entertained for hours by them
-milk to EVERYTHING(they love food)
-burp rags to bibs
-looks and babbles to hugs and kisses
-rookie parents to still rookie parents and learning something new everyday!

So crazy to think that those two big babies were in there!! This pic is at 36 weeks.

I went into labor on Jan. 25th around noon. Contractions were going great all afternoon and evening. Then that night they slowed down!!!! I was sooooo frustrated, I was ready for the twins to be there! Dr. Rowe said that since I was 36 weeks and 3 days that he would induce me in the morning if I didn't have them over night. Well the contractions went to every 8 min and there was no sign of any babies coming. He induced me at 7:00 that morning. Went through lots of pain until 10:00, got my wonderful epidural and it was smooth sailing till about 3:30. When it was time to deliver, my epidural didn't work, LONG STORY!! After some pushing, LOTS of pain my two healthy babies entered this world. It was SOOOOOO worth everything we had been through.

Waiting for the babies to come!
I'm a mommy of the two most amazing little people!!
