Just for Fun!

Tatum and Tanner's new favorite things, "bocks" aka blocks and "sacks" aka stacks!!

Happy Birthday Daddy, we ALL love you!!
Troy caught in mid bite of his yummy birthday cake!! Thanks mama Moody for making the cake, I was on bed rest so she made an amazing meal and cake for Troy! By the way, I have the BEST mom in the world!!

Tatum loves her some cake!!

I think Tan Man is a fan of the cake too!

I have NEVER been a fan of the kids watching TV, but since I was on bed rest and had to take it easy, it really helped out when Troy was working and couldn't play with them!
I think they like it!

Tanner's First Haircut Adventure

My mom had cut my hair my whole life until she taught Johnna once we were married over five years ago. Once the twins were born and time became scarce, I usually visited TGF on "Ten Dollar Tuesdays" every once in a while. So, when it came time to cut Tanner's hair, we didn't know if his mom, my mom or a children's haircut pro would be the best bet. During our deliberation, family picture day snuck up on us and we decided after I had tried out a new barber shop for the first time, that we better get his done too.
This barber shop had been here in Kingwood for over 25 years but I have to admit, the only barber shop I had ever seen was the one that Eddie Murphy frequented on Coming To America. Oh, quite the contrary. We didn't meet Eddie but we did meet a nice group of Texas good ol' boys who hunt, fish, and cut hair. And they're pretty good with little rascals too!
We were reluctant to cut off his gold-e locks of course but as you can see, it was time.
Doug and Tanner fix'n to "git 'er done"
Tanner not that excited.
The first whack!

Tanner really lightened up once they got under way. The frequent blasts of compressed air (used to blow hair off) heard through out the shop and the visual feast of large mouth bass and trophy bucks provided a nice distraction.
Below, Tanner proudly displays his certificate, sucker and new do.
His haircut was actually cheaper that mine, and I was well behaved.
At least next time I don't feel the obligation to sit still and not scream.

A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

Year Two at The Dewberry Farm!*
*The Dewberry Farm does not contain a single dewberry*

Many of us will, quite literally, look back on this blogging thing and either think, 'I'm sure glad that I wrote on that picture or I would have forgotten about that day.'  or 'Wow, what a waste of so many hours of my life!'  :) I think Tatum and Tanner will look back on these many posts as well and get to see their lives' happenings before their memories even started recording. So, we just wanted to say, thanks for joining us. Your comments will be fun for them to read some day.

"This was from back in the early 2000's when the farmer, who knew way too much about gourds, would give us a hay ride to the pumpkin patch to pick the pumpkin of our choice."

Tatum and Tanner quickly found the perfect pumpkin.

...Well, maybe this one is a little too...um, orange."Hah! You just can't pick it up can you? I can pick it up with one hand."
"But to be safe, I better use both hands."
"...You're right, I think it's a little too um...orange."

Perfect!
Oh yes, perfect!
Now that the twins had secured the perfect pumpkins, we decided to go check out the livestock.
"On your marks, get set, Go!"
And their off! The pink one won.

The pink one won

Tanner loved the goats and would run up and down the fence to pet them. As if overalls weren't enough, he figured he should look the part a little better and loose the shirt.
Tatum was no less impressed with the goats.
Tanner spent the whole 20 or 30 minutes in the playground area on this John Deer Tri-cycle.

Tatum...on this chain bridge. She is fearless and would run back and forth over and over again.
and again
and again!

We had so much fun, especially since they charge for pumpkins by the pound! Don't worry we also got a big pumpkin for carving.
Mommy smuggled it out under her shirt.

Carter Update

Well...... yesterday we had an appointment with the baby doctor and found out that our little Carter didn't slow down on his growth. HE SPED UP!!!! Yesterday was 33 weeks and 5 days. Carter's body was measuring 38 weeks and his head is at 40 weeks. They estimate that he weighs 6lbs. 8ozs. CRAZY!!!! Troy and I were concerned that something must be wrong since he was so big. The tech re-measured and it was all correct. She then went on to check everything out very carefully since we were worried  and she said he looked perfect. He is just going to be a big kiddo. So Dr. Rowe comes in and takes a look at Carter and is amazed how big he is. He again tells me that he is very healthy, just big. The twins were large for twins so it was kinda expected. So the bad news is....... it looks like i'm going to have a Thanksgiving baby. I was really looking forward to carrying him to term but Dr. Rowe says our goal is to deliver by 37 weeks. He said that would be my best chance at being able to deliver naturally. It already looks like I will probably have to have a c-section because he probably won't fit down the birth canal since he is the size of a baby that should be delivered right now. I DON'T want a c-section. SO PLEASE pray that this baby will fit and we can have him at 37 weeks. Needless to say now we have a 3 week countdown with TONS of stuff still to do!!! But the great news is...... I get to meet my amazing little man in 3 short weeks!!!   By the way the due date is correct, everyone keeps asking.

"Treat Treat"

This Is Tatum and Tanner as Pebbles and Bamm Bamm!!
Johnna made their costumes from the ground up! I'm impressed. She found some little plastic bones and made Pebbles's hair clip. She also took an old hat and somehow turned it into Bamm Bamm's hat. The Flintstones car was cardboard concrete forms and cardboard. A little paint and the kids got to trick or treat in style (Or as they like to say, "Treat, Treat")

We entered them into a costume contest here:
