Moody Gardens

We took Tanner and Tatum to Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. We thought that they would enjoy the rainforest pyramid.
They were really fascinated by the pink flamingos. If you've never been here, there are many species of tropical birds, fish and exotic rainforest animals and plants under a ten story tall glass pyramid. We actually didn't realize that they were open until six but you had to have purchased your tickets by five...We arrived at the ticket counter at 5:10. But a nice employee gave us the wave through so we had the whole place to ourselves. Well, except for the bats and sloths and macaws. Personally, I was surprised that the kids were so interested and that they had such a good time.We thought it only appropriate to go to the seawall and eat at The Rainforest Cafe' for dinner.

Here we are at dinner. These are from the river adventure ride inside the restaurant.

Although Tatum looks a little woosie, they weren't scared of the snakes, gorillas and elephants lunging at the raft like we anticipated.

They had fun. It's great when they get old enough to go and do fun stuff.
